Lanvanish

As you all might know, today was the launch of the Lanvin collection of H&M and off course I couldn't resist to buy at least something of it.. but I will have to wait until I get back to the Netherlands to open up my deliveries!

So I got up at 7 am to set myself up for the massive attack on the online shop.. From prior experience of standing in line at the door made me choose for the more comfortable option of shopping at home:)..

Yes call me crazy but I had two computers as reinforcement! So as soon as the clock on my laptop hit 8.00 AM I started to click on the shop.. one went immediately into the waiting line..GREAT.. so much for that! But luckily the other one did get in so I could shop at ease without having to get into cat fights with other women..

So rara the theme of today is my interpretation of Lanvin.. When I think of Lanvin I think of volume, rich fabrics and details. The collection of Lanvin for H&M is somewhat in line with this but it incorporates more outspoken colors. Besides the colors are combined in such a way that they really pop into your eyes...so as color loving person I was really inspired by this!

Key ingredients of my Lanvin style: flowers, pearls, waist belt, some sparkles and a petticoat to get the volume effect..

Mademoiselle Beetlejuice

What a life, what a life.. I've had a lovely vacation back in the Netherlands and saw my family and friends. So I'm all set to get back to the normal life here in France which is not bad at all.. Sunny weather, 16 degrees and no classes until next wednesday..I really have to enjoy all my free time now as this might be the last year that I'm studying.
In the meanwhile when is wasn't posting anything I've been working on clothes for a fashion show the 6th of december. The fashion show is organized by the program director of my master and I'm working with 6 girls on the clothes for this Indian inspired fashion show. While I was working I realized how much I love it that I have the chance to do something which I really really like.. So never be afraid to follow your heart and take chances to become whatever you love to do in life!!

Always combine something that is oversized with something that is tight otherwise it looks as if you put on a garbage bag..

Lovely sun:)

What I really like is the combination of turquoise with black and white, because it really emphasizes and brings out the turquoise as an eyecatcher!

It's All About Volume

Being busy the last couple of weeks I wasn't able to post a lot since I always want to take my time to find a special location that suits the way I feel that day.. Lately I have been very into petticoat kind of skirts as I love the volume and the look of it.. You can combine it with practically anything.. You can either dress it up with a party top or dress it down with a denim blouse or t-shirt whatever the occasion. But keep in mind that wearing heels underneath it, is a must!

It's easy to find petticoats in a lot of vintage stores, stores where you can buy theme clothes and stores that sell old rock n roll clothing.

Going Hunting

The first fall item!! Although it is still good weather here I felt that I had to do a different item that is more appealing for most of you that are following my blog.. Then you might actually benefit from my fashion tips;)..
Well fur is back in town as I have already seen in many stores.. so far I like it but I must say I'm not a great fan of boots with fur on them! To me it looks as if you have yeti feet.. I prefer sleek boots in suede or leather or something along that line..
Furthermore I often think that just a blouse is too boring to wear so this time I combined it with a colorful tight top/dress and with a little waist belt around it I feel much more styled! Another way I wear blouses is by knotting the ends together so it has a more playful look..

My absolute favorite of the season.. The Hunter's Hat

Hat: Zara
Gilet: Bought in Zwitserland (can't remember the name of the boutique)
Blouse: H&M
Dress: American Apparel
Belt: Vintage
Shoes: Zara
Skull Ring: H&M

Côte D'Or

I actually thought of this outfit when I was sitting in the airplane on my way to Antibes.. You can make so many variations with the name Côte D'Azur so I pictured myself wearing something in gold so that I could name the next post Côte D'Or.. like the chocolate:)
Luckily I also had something in gold since gold or silver colored clothes can look very trashy when you combine it in the wrong way.. thus I always combine it with white or black. It's also advisable to combine it with something of a different fabric!

It was quite hard to jump on the rocks since their surface is uneven but I managed without tripping..

Le Palmiers

Finally I'm back ! It took me quite some time but I am officially settled into my new home in Antibes in the sunny south of France. I also got internet, in the comfort of my own home, so from now I will be able to post all my adventures and fashion finds again.
As you might now I just started my master in luxury and fashion management. Last week I have had my first introduction to the program but most of the time I have been busy with getting to know people, explore the scenery and off course go out..
Partying is something that you can do really well on the French Riviera. In terms of fashion I view the Riviera as an area where people wear a lot of color like in the Carribean. And in contrast to the Netherlands people actually dress up when they go out which I like very much. I can finally wear all my party dresses and you don't have a feeling that you're overdressed!

The dress that I'm wearing is actually very simple but the color is great! I combined the dress with a large waist belt but you might as well combine it with a smaller one.. as long as it is a waist belt. Without it, it would look like a bag without any form in it.
In my view it is best to combine light yellow with either light/dark brown, cognac or dark blue. Black is not ideal because the color is too hard for a pastel color like this. Off course you combine the color of your belt with matching shoes.

Although you can't see them very well I made these earrings myself from a bracelet.. Next time I will post an update on my latest jewelry creations!

Graphic Grafitti

Unfortunately I haven't took the time lately to make a lot of photos for my blog since I have been busy preparing for next year. In about 2,5 weeks I will move to the South of France to do a master over there. Tomorrow I'll be going there for a week to explore the place and find a new home. Almost everyday there's a little something that I need to do to make sure that everything is organized when I'm not that close to the Netherlands anymore.

As for my outfit..it's nothing special today except for the fact that I'm attached to all of the items that I'm wearing. For instance I love this top because it speaks for itself and you can just throw it on without wearing too much aside to it.

I don't know why but this necklace reminds me of the South of France.. It looks so tropical and could match with a riviera look very well..

Studded shoes match the colors of the top
